Mühle-Glashütte: Sales up 10%

The family-owned and operated watch brand from Glashütte in Saxony thrives!!! Compared to the first half of 2010, sales over the same period in 2011 increased by 10% . This is the result of our strong commitment to international markets.

Mühle-Glashütte actively pursued the global markets. Through the presence on international fairs such as the "JCK" in Las Vegas, "BASELWORD" and the "Inhorgenta" in Munich, a greater market share was achieved in all important markets".
For our growth, the most important markets are Asia and North-America" says Thilo Mühle, CEO.

"We appreciate that we got more retailers for the United States at the JCK in Las Vegas."

Nevertheless, in the future we will also increase our distribution in European core-markets, especially Austria and Great Britain.
We are looking forward to add to the 350 current retailers in Germany and Austria.

The fact that the fine quality watches from the traditional companies out of Glashütte are very popular is also demonstrated in the positive sales-report.
For the two quarters of 2011, a sales increase of 10% over last year could be reported.

Premiere in Basel: Hand-wound movement with the Mühle fine regulation

MU 9411MU 9411 is said to be one of the most fascinating Mühle new designs at this year's Baselworld. As connoisseurs of our watches can guess, there is no new Mühle watch hiding behind this name, but rather a new clockwork mechanism: It is the first hand-wound mechanism with the reliable woodpecker neck regulation which was developed by Mühle-Glashütte in 2003.

Our hand-wound movement will be used in a new range of the Teutonia family of watches. The watches will have a traditionally shaped clock face with Arabic numerals and minute-track as well as a grooved bezel. The design of the clock face, which is reminiscent of pocket watches, suits the character of the new MU 9411 beautifully: its transmission wheel and ratchet wheel, for example, are placed visibly in the three quarter plate typical of Glashütte, and are given the Glashütte solarization. Hence, the hand-wound movement possesses the typical features of an early Glashütte pocket watch clockwork.

Mühle-Glashütte CEO visits Canada

Muehle Glashuette CEO visits CanadaThilo Mühle, CEO of Nautische Instrumente Mühle-Glashütte GmbH, traveled to Canada last weekend for a meeting with Muehle-Glashuette Canada, the Canadian distributor of this traditional brand.

After completion of business, the great-great-great-great-grandson of company founder Robert Mühle enjoyed a sailing trip on the Ottawa River.

Equipped with maritime Muehle watches, the cruise started with a calm sea but soon encountered winds in excess of 25kn with wave to match. Beside a sportive trip, President of Muehle-Glashuette Canada, Hermann Wallner, could offer the guest from Glashütte a picturesque view of Ottawa's shores from the vessel.

Thilo Muehle promised that this experience would have to be repeated the next year - but then with some warmer clothes!! :)

New Model: S.A.R. Flieger-Chronograph

To rescue people in distress at sea, a strong and reliable team is needed. For this reason, the rescue workers of the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service and rescue pilots from the German Navy regularly work together. The latter come in their Sea King helicopters to the aid of people in distress. What then was more logical than to compliment the S.A.R. Rescue-Timer with a watch for the SAR pilots?
